Purpose: Bundle messages for downloading/reading offline
Available at: Message and Upload area subboard prompts
The Yank command allows to you pack new messages into a file to download. The Yank command operates in the BACKGROUND. While Yank is packing messages, you are free to continue using the system. When Yank has finished, a message will appear on your screen.
Before beginning, Yank will offer to Pack the text file using LHarc (or one of several other compression utilities you may set as your default using EP). This will often save in excess of 50% of the required transfer size.
Another option will be given to remove carriage returns. In general, Amiga users will want to do this, whereas users of other computers likely will not. When removed, only the LineFeed character (hex 0A) is left to delineate lines.
A global variation of Yank is available (YA) to perform the Yank on ALL subboards that you are a member of.
